Charlottetown Abbies Awarded 2016 Bell Aliant Peewee Atlantic Championships

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, September 24, 2015 – Hockey PEI has announced that the Charlottetown Abbies has been selected as the host for the 2016 Bell Aliant Peewee AAA Atlantic Championships. The Charlottetown Abbies will host the event at the MacLauchlan Arenas(CARI Complex) from April 7-10, 2016.

The championship will crown the top Peewee AAA team from the region. Teams will include Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, a provincial representative from PEI and the host team Charlottetown Abbies.

The Charlottetown Abbies were successful in their bid attempt, as they were selected by a selection committee comprised of members of Hockey PEI Minor Council whom reviewed the bid applications and made the selection for the championships.

“On behalf of the Charlottetown Peewee AAA Hockey Team and the host organizing committee, we are honoured and excited to be able to host the Bell Aliant Atlantic Peewee AAA Hockey Championships at the CARI Complex in April. This will be a great week of hockey showcasing the top peewee teams in Atlantic Canada. We look forward to working with Hockey PEI and the City of Charlottetown to put on a first class event for everyone to enjoy,” stated Brodie O’Keefe representing the host bid committee.
